Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca was delighted with his team’s performance in their landslide win over Aston Villa.

“The performance was very good, excellent both on and off the ball. I’m very happy with the three points.” Maresca said after leading the team to 25 points from the first 13 matches.
‘I said after the game against Leicester. No matter what the other team is, the important thing is to play the way we want, with and without the ball. When we did that and got the three points. We were happy of course. But I thought it was a very good performance.’
‘We played well on the ball, as we prepared for the game because Villa are a very difficult team to play against. They defend very well, so finding space is very difficult.’
Maresca said:
‘They don’t press, they just wait, so you have to be patient. If you press, you lose the ball and you concede goals. Without the ball, we were very aggressive, we put pressure on the opponent well.’
‘It was a great game for a number of reasons. One of which was because the other team was a great team.’
‘I think Emery is a top manager, he’s won trophies everywhere and he did a great job with Villa. We were there, we were prepared for the game and we deserved to win.’
As for Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson who scored again. The Italian coach said: “They are attacking players. They need to get into the penalty area when we are attacking.”
“We saw today that they scored in both games. Enzo is in a good position, so we just keep going.”
